The Quiet Before the Rerating

Something is shifting in the way capital is being priced. Not loudly. That's the point.

There's a particular kind of silence that precedes a meaningful repricing event. Not the silence of complacency — that has a different texture, almost warm. This silence is cooler. Deliberate. I've been watching it build for several months now. The language in meeting rooms has changed in small but measurable ways. Certainties have become *working assumptions*. Projections have grown wider at the tails. Nobody is saying this aloud, because the incentive to say it aloud does not exist. But the signal is there. --- This is not a prediction. I don't deal in predictions — predictions require conviction about timing, and timing is where instincts go to die. This is an observation about *character*. The character of a market that is no longer sure of itself but hasn't admitted it yet. The admission, when it comes, will be fast. That's all I have today. It was worth writing down.
